Wonderful composition & beautiful colors.

Thanks  for looking and commenting Daniel and Abraham !!
It's helpful to hear what's working in a piece for sure. Color
and composition were definitely  the focus on this one.

Very nice  Dan I really like the painterly quality in your work. I've attempted a few still lifes in the past but cant seem to catch those color variations this clearly! And how you achieve such texture is beyond me! What is your  preference, canvas (linen)or panels?

Very nice indeed.  Love the light being absorbed and bouncing off these items.  The tall bottle is great.  Painterly quality at it's best !

Hi Sergio! Thanks so much.

I did this one a while back and I believe I used a six color warm/cool palette for this one?
Now I use three colors/ primary. What helped me with color initially, was the Kevin Macpherson book,  "Fill your Oil Paintings with light and Color".  Also, Dan McCaw's  " A Proven Strategy for Creating Great Art"  sounds like a plug right? Wish I could get paid for that !

Seriously, these two books helped me get a handle on color. As far as textures- that's pretty much just observation of the nature of a particular object. Asking myself questions about the the surface before I paint it. This was also my first conscious effort to think about edges in a painting.

As far as substrates, I have used stretched canvas predominately and some wood panel, I would like to try linen, haven't yet! Soon.

Hope that answers any questions you had. Let me know if I can help ! Dan

Hello Dania and Ron !

Thanks so much for the complimentary comments on this piece-
especially for the comment on the "painterly" quality here. That is the approach which
appealed to me since I started making art. I do appreciate any style though, as long as it is well done.
This is just my own personal artistic temperament.

Thanks for the encouragement ! Daniel
