Very successful piece! I like the painterly approach of the back and foregrounds, setting off the more finished quality of the figure. Nice use of darks and lights as well. Very, very nice work!

Really masterful! The foot torsion adds a little note of tension that I think works well as a counterpoint to the serenity of the rest of the piece.

I particularly like the variation in value and color as the butt shades into the darkness of the back. Also, the texturing of the environment fills the picture space beautifully.
The brush of this painting when it is enlarged is fascinating. The more refined figure is so enhanced with the looser work of the background. The focal area of light with the angle of the foot is beautifully composed. Truly excellent !
