This is a portrait of a guy I work with.  He normally wears his hair up in a Large hat which he refers to as a "crown".  He let his hair down for me to snap some pictures in the locker room.  I still need to paint the background, but I thought I would post it and even ask for suggestions for the background.  I thank you in advance for whatever input you may have to offer.

Great portraiture ! It captures a very natural expression of an easy going guy.  For a background..hmmm  the vertical lines of the hair are the eye catching thing here.... a contrast diagonal line for the background... like a mirror effect, maybe....?

Very cool image! This guy looks like a real character. If you go with a blue/grey bkg, his skintone will pop more. If you go with a very dark warm tone, it will harmonize, and make the dreads pop more. I'm not sure that I would introduce any greens.

Great portrait, very well done. As for the background I^d would go blue/gray as Skylar recomended

This is a great portrait, you have captured such personality! Personally I feel a background would detract from the subject matter. This is such a dramatic portrait that I feel it can stand on its own with a fiarly light plain background. Well Done
