Impressionistic Acrylic on canvas technique- This is another of my favorite subjects - Nostalgic Landscapes. This is an imagined scene out Kitchen windows looking into the yard, at the beginning of the day.
Love this!!! Very good as usual for you. I like the way you handled the light, it makes you feel like you are there. Brings back a lot of memories of life on the farm.
Kick - Thanks so much! This is an image I have wanted to create for quite a while. Glad you like it.
Great subject matter and I really like the rustic treatment of the interior walls. Great geometry. The crooked gate is also a very nice touch!
Ron - Thanks! Since you seem to be the Go-To guy for archetectural details, I am most pleased you like this.
Very nice Skyler! When I first saw the thumbnail.....I thought ...Wyeth! Nice choice of vantage point....great use of color and light.
Fit for a gallery or museum. Absolutely beautiful work.
Love it Skylar. Great composition and wonderful light. Well done.
MPO - To be mentioned in the same sentence with (any) Wyeth is praise indeed! Thank you so much.
Darin - Thanks so much! It will soon be hanging in my gallery.
bp - Thanks, my friend. The light was the motivation.
I like having to peer through the window to see the focal point. You do great work Skylar.
Gene - Thank you. Sometimes layers of focal interest can be intriguing.
I actually feel like I'm standing inside looking out of the window. Lovely work, as always. Love the way the light stricks the window surrounds.
Kit - Thank you for commenting. I may do another, I like that effect, too.
Hey Skylar yet another great piece, love the focal point and light source very nice.
Mike - Thanks, guy. I really appreciate it!
This is fabulous Skylar. The perspective and light is really something. It just sings with ambiance. The scene outside also keeps your attention. It's hard to pick a favorite of yours because you do so many great pieces. I will have to say that this is on the top of the list. You've captured that essence that we always strive for. I love it !
Dania - Thank you. I am truly humbled by your words. That thing you describe is Lightning in a Bottle. I've never known when I captured it, only when I didn't. It seems it will alwys be up to someone else to tell me the difference.
Your are very talented Skylar, not only your rendering is impecable, but you take theese scenes out of your notalgic memories!. Do you meditate? Beautiful work
ecxelente arte¡
Raul - Than you for your response to this piece. I don't know if you can call Daydreaming meditating, but it is probably close. I don't really ever shut down. I am an A Type personality, with ADHD, and an extremely short attention span. Painting is the main way I can discipline my mind for long periods to stay focused on one thing. I spend most of every day painting, while listening to jazz music and with the television on (usually Political programs)
Daniel - Thank you, my friend.
I love your nostalgic landscapes. The idea to paint through the window adds a kind of mistery.
Abraham - Thank you. I was hoping it would add a little mystery - like, what else is in the room, or maybe, who...And maybe, just what is that bldg out there?!
What a beautiful composition!
Dominique - Thank you so much!!!
excellent!
Arte - Thank you so much!
