Loretta, I love this - great atmospheric perspective. Nice composition and colors.

I think I will just expect excellence from you. You have a great compositional sense - something that is hard to teach. When I had students, I found I could teach anyone to paint from the technical point, but you have to have that almost unconscious sense of what is right for a piece when you create it. Often I will look at a piece I have finished, and realize I have done many things that were absolutely right for the piece, without being aware of the process.

This bridge looks like one I used to drive over to take trash to our dump. It was one lane, with wooden slats, and barely wide enough for the truck. At 12, that was a heck of a drive!

Absolutely beautiful picture! Great scenery and the mist behind the bridge makes me almost feel the icy wheather there.

Sounds very polyphonic to me - calm and scary, cold and warm, frigid and romantic, and more... different perceptions and feelings, like in the real life - one moment sometimes can be a palette of sentiments. I love it, because of the solitude and the presence.

beautiful painting Loretta! The ice in the trees is a great touch, makes me feel the cold and I love the mist in the trees. Yes I agree you have a great compositional sense and it shows in all your work. great job!

Valia - you definitely are a poet.  I wonder what you could say about it if you were actually there.  It looks so calm but when you stand on that bridge you can hear the paradoxical rapids in the distance and Skylar - you are right about the bridge - it is getting very old and it is starting to have problems though your bridge sounds much more exciting.  Thank you Margo, Kika, Kit, and Sherry!
