This lightouse is "loosely" based on the Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Acadia National Park, Maine (yes, artistic liberties were taken - ahem - lol.  The size is 11 x 14" acrylic on canvas.  Yes, I tried a new medium (Acrylic)... just to see if I liked them. I can't say it's one of my favorite mediums though, and will probably be the last time I use them.  I'm rather pleased with the way this one turned out though (excuse the crooked picture)... This is now in the hands of a family member for Christmas and they loved it (or so they said - wink - lol).

Excellent job. Of course they liked it. So do I.

Great placement on the page.  The colors are wonderful, not too sweet like y ou sometimes see on lighthouse paintings.  I know what you mean about acrylics.

Laura, you definitley should experiment more with this medium, what a great first time shot at it!  I love the perspective and keep up the good work!

Thanks Coleman, I appreciate your kind words.  I will keep the acrylics around just in case I change my mind.  I found them less forgiving than oils - even with the extender.  I like to try new mediums - sometimes I get bored with oils and watercolors and I like to experiment again - lol.
