Gouache on a quarter sheet of black Stonehenge.

A couple people here (Margo, JCees-?) gave me the idea to focus on the accessories of flamenco, so here I'm focusing on the fans, etc.,.  This is a rather static pose, so I played with color and line to create some movement and dynamics.  I'm still tweaking it in spots, but this is the general idea.

The fan is gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks, Margo!  I finished it a touch more, but it's not too much more developed than this because this one is really more of a study of the fans and less about the figure, which I was trying to make secondary to the fans.

I like it.  Very striking with wonderful colors.

Thanks, dania!  I'll take a good photo of the final version tomorrow.  My polarizing filter arrived the other day and it helps some with photographing these paintings on black paper.

The fans are great. I know you are focusing on them but I would like to see a bit more detail on the face. Was that in the tweaking plan?
