Charoal drawing on canvas, ca 40" x 56"
Dirk, Your work is breathtaking! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Beautiful tones and detail.
This is absolutely stunning. Wow.
This is wonderful. Very impressive.
Excellent work. The shape, tones, shadows and lights are just perfect!
The gradation of tone on this is impeccable. This is amazingly beautiful. Will you be painting it also?
This was on the cover of Drawing Magazine, right? Well done!
Dirk .. this is outstanding. The contrast is so well executed. Nice job.
Cheers everyone and thanks for your kind comments!
@Margo
Well, I plan to paint the girl but not this one again.
@NHunsaker
Yep. I just noticed that I never uploaded it here (which I thought I had).
Beautiful as always. It was on the cover of Blue Canvas 3 as well, wasn't it? Anyhow, stunning mastery of the medium and a lot of feeling for the model. Thanks for sharing.
GREAT!!! Dzimirsky rules!!!
Incredible! I saw your feature article in drawing magazine and was very impressed.
I was just reading a book on Lucian Freud who at one point thought that too much details would deaden a painting, I think in your case, the amount of attention to details makes the drawing extremely alive .
Form all of your amazing work. This seems to be my favorite! What triggers the most interest is the slightly tilted head of the female, which creates an icon, and puts her in an Imaginary Halo of a Madonna. Her gaze does also contributes to this magical appearance. Great work.
very beautiful! very skilled use of charcoal. amazing detail, sandy
Thank you for your comments!
@Daniel
Yes, a small detail tho.
@Miroslav
;-)
@Sandrine
I am a big fan of Lucian Freud and I admit. My approach to details are not so far away from his approach to detail through texture and brush work.
If one understand details not separately but as part of the whole helps to not fall into the trap of deaden an image, I guess. I don't think "details" while drawing, I just narrow my concentration but still work (thus think) on a given form as a whole.
@Kostadin
Thanks for your nice description!
Wow!
Not bad young man!....by the way......do I know that girl?
