This painting was developed from my sketches and photographs of the White Mountains in New England.
Gene, I love the way the river takes me into the painting, wanting to find out what's just around the bend. I've been struggling with composition and this gives me a great example of what to do.
Someone spent a lot of time on those beautiful rocks! :)
I love the splotches of red in this composition - really catches my eye. The reflection colors are lovely. I would have liked to see more lighter highlights in the tree tops though. This is a beautiful painting though - Very very nice! :)
