Acrylic on canvas 20"x16" (2010)  The setting sun could not disguise the fact that the January thaw had passed.  The pond froze again and it was winter once more.  The scene is in Gardner, Massachusetts

Fantastic refections on the snow and ice in that the ice is smooth and new while the snow remains slightly more textured or like a matt finish compared to the ice.  The sun being very low helps too with the mood.  We had about a two day window of thaw as well... unfortunatly we are now 15 degrees below normal.   So this painting holds out hope that spring IS still ahead.  Thanks!
