Self Portrait 1

I've caught the painting bug again and I've been painting up a storm. I managed to pull myself away from my game console long enough to pump out this effort. This is the first portrait i've painted of myself in years and it was a lot of fun working with flesh tones and trying to incorporate subtle bursts of color while trying to preserve some sense of transparency. In a week or so I'll be going big with higher quality paper and bigger brushes.

Very nice ! I love the red and yellow undertones in the skin. The quality of the paper is very important for the final result, makes a huge difference.

Leave the game console :-)

This is such a good watercolor portrait, remarkable skin tone and I love the weave in the jacket. Please add your name to the tags so that we can pull all your paintings at once.

Love the sense of line, expression, and division of the overall picture space - really nice work!
