I'm not an oil painter so I can't talk technique. But this is how I feel about the composition. It seems to me this painting is like a stage production. The stage is set. The backdrops have been painted and the stage props are in place. I'm just waiting for the actors to show up. I can't find a subject.
I have to agree with Old Paint. I think the rocks (cliffs???) on the left detract from the painting and perhaps it would have been better served to have a sweeping chuck of sandy beach meeting up with the other white sandy beach?????
I keep waiting for a boat to come sailing in from the right... but it never comes. ;-) Very nice work!
