Oil on masonite  14X18.  My first oil painting of the new year.  This shows the last few minutes of sun on an old apple tree on a nearby farm.

Great, the cool shadows sweeping across the foreground are perfect!

(there I go again.)  The shadows are great as they come alive with the great (all but white) sun lit snow.  That fraction of warmth is also played well in the clouds.  Like a promis... that the sun will return.

This is a painting that I can feel through my senses and my memories of where I grew up.  The feeling of cold along with the juxtaposition of imminent warmth is a real achievement.
