This is another one that's just been waiting for the last few hours of work on the background... for seven or eight months. A bad habit with me. It's 48"x24", in oil, and the model was Luke, a good friend and fantastic dancer, apart from being an inspiring model. 

By the way - I'm on www.artistaday.com today! They chose a couple older drawings of Fey, a model in Los Angeles whom I loved working with.

This is incredible!  A really great sense of the solid mass and heft of the anatomy.

Great painting. The cropping you chose adds to the feel you were looking to portray.

You think Luke spends a bit of time in the gym?  very nice, the backround works well here.

Daniel, I agree with Paulk - the cropping is stunning, and enhances the emotions. This is an amazing painting - and it is great to see you paint a man!  Wonderufl job. I can't stopp looking at his expression! Wow.
