Science Sunday again! I'm sorry I'm away from the hardcopies of these, Kisu - I haven't had a chance to scan any bones of the hand drawings yet. But I hope some neck muscles (human) will help pass the time...
This is absolutely fascinating!...I imagine you had to really think about how to best present this so that all that complex anatomy was revealed in a way that the viewer could readily follow the layers deeper and deeper. How many sessions did it take for you to complete this one?
Hi Kisu! I really did have to think this one over! It gets so complicated in there. This was the second of two - I'll post the superficial neck muscle drawing next Science Sunday. Apart from the thinking-it-over, this wasn't a particularly lengthy drawing (abdominal arteries - that took a long time). It was about five hours doing the pencil version with the cadaver, and then somewhere between 5 and 8 re-doing it at home in pen. I hope the structures show clarity in the final version.
Daniel, this is fantastic! I can't stop looking at it. I look forward to more Science Sunday's.... :)
Thanks Sarah! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Let's convince Kisu to post anatomy on Sundays as well - if it's just me, it's Narcissist Sundays, but two is a party...
very well done. i look forward to seeing your next nudes in oils.
