I'm not really a "detail" painter, I strive for as much looseness as I can - however I really like the detail in your work - very clean and crisp.
I do a lot of miniature 5x7 or smaller Native American Indian portraits, showing expressions on their faces that depict the hardships they went through and overcame. My goal is totally the expression, such as Sorrow-Despair etc. As long as the eyes,nose, mouth, ears end up in the apprx correct location, I'm happy. I have an exhibit coming up 12/13 with over 30 of these miniatures.
Keep the paintings coming-excellent body of work from what I've seen thus far.
Your control of the grasses is great. Very effective picture in mood and expertise.
