36 x 36 oil, rustoleum oil enamels mixed and tinted with oil paints, on canvas, canvas is gessoed 10 times. then a base is built of removable color with acryclics.  then each canvsas is painted in a random fashion with layers of oil paint and rustoleum. murphys oil soap is poured onto the canvas which is tilted to create drips defining horizontals and verticals,.use of the soap which i use to clean my brushes was a surprising discovery.it eats away lasyers of paint  in what i call "reveals"----revealing hidden colors below.the process is very random forcing me to stay lighthearted and adaptable to the paintings evolution.

Thanks for the description of your painting process, Fascinating, I like the effect you achieve with reveal of hidden colors with Murphys.

one could say i really don't know how to paint. at least one studio buddy comes by and says something like, oh i see you are using your bag of tricks...

yes, its true. i lay on a lot of paint, make a big mess. then i use soap and water to clean some of it up.then i squint. react to the implied form. maybe apply somer paint try to define it, pull it out.

make another mess, wash it off. squint. repeat, thats my process.

Your process works in my opinion, and is developing into a unique statement, unlike so many of the photo copiers in this gallery.
