Lori, this is a beautiful, sensitive portrait - I love the feeling in it, and the subltle greys. Lovely.

The expression is just right, sensitive and observant without straying into that overly 'pensive' affectation that afflicts so much portraiture done from life.   The colors are wonderful.  How long was the session?

We start at about 10:30 - 11:00 (whenever everyone stops saying hello, hugging and eating donuts with coffee. I stopped just before 3:00 pm. That's the time of day that I'm liable to ruin anything I did earlier in the day. This was painted along with the Putney Painters, but this session had about 17 of us. Really crowded, and I was far away from the model this time.

Thanks Kisu -  I usually do not choose to paint a profile, but it was the only spot where I could see her.

Lovely!  I like the enveloping background, it really works with this portrait!

Artists can't be taught how to capture a mood, having only seen one of your work, you seem to have that ability.
