20" X 24" oil on canvas, "Parisian Man with Cell Phone, Smoking Cigarette"
by Warren Keating, is a dynamic, above-view, figurative painting from
my award-winning series, Overview, that was featured on CNN. It depicts
an overhead view of a man walking on Boulevard St. Germain, 6th
Arrondissement, Paris talking on his mobile and carrying a smoke. The
style of this painting reflects a type of mark making that I have
invented, a kind of "pixelated impressionism" where the expressive
swashes of paint depict the pixels from the original digital video
reference image.
