This is a painting that I was inspired to do after listening to the lyrics of Mama's Just A Little Girl. It tells the story of a 13 year old girl who became pregnant and was forced to raise twin boys by herself, it also tells of struggles to provide shelter, food and clothing for them. One brother got involved in selling drugs and was shot and killed. The mother holds the child as he dies as the brother watches and tells the story. He repeats throughout the song. " I don't blame you, because mama was just a little girl".

This paiinting is 30x40. and is oil. The painting is done in a flemish technique.

Wow, incredibly moving, especially after reading the caption (great feathers also) there are not many that can take the emotion from a song and transpose it into a painting.

You are an "artist" in it's truest form. Your inner vision shows

through in this painting, the message is clear to me. It could be

that I have a connection to this painting, with one of my twin

son's losing his life in a car accident, and the basketball players

I work with. A lot of them live hard lives & some have become

pregnant, derailing basketball & college aspirations. Yet I have

a feeling I'm not the only one that feels this painting is special.

Keep painting from within.

                            Peace & take care,
