20" X 16" oil on canvas, "Bagagiste (Bellman), Hotel Lutetia, Paris" by Warren Keating, is a dynamic, above-view, figurative painting from my award-winning series, Overview, that was featured on CNN. It depicts an overhead view of a bellman walking on Boulevard St. Germain, in front of the Hotel Lutetia, 6th Arrondissement, Paris. I got the reference for this painting from the balcony of my room at the Lutetia. The style of this painting reflects a type of mark making that I have invented, a kind of "pixelated impressionism" where the expressive swashes of paint depict the pixels from the original digital video reference image. It is on 1 1/2" thick, museum wrap, stretched canvas with the sides painted white, no need for framing, saving hundreds of dollars. Go to WarrenKeating.com for more info.

This is a very interesting "Style" I did some quite similar takes on painted pixels when I was in school. The Over-Head is amusing.
