Michael Chesley Johnson is an award-winning oil and pastel painter working in the American Southwest, coastal Maine and the Canadian Maritimes. He specialises in teaching plein air workshops in oil and pastel. The size of the grand tree that is the focus of this neat "cold" plein air  is established as a giant as it soars off the canvas.  Great setting and nicely shot.  I can follow along on the process and learn as I watch.  Super.  I hope we get more on this site like this.
