Looked like Saddleback Lake out of Lee Vining, CA.  Early June brings the first hatch of mosquitoes and rain/hail in the California Sierra Mountains.  Last time I got caught we drove directly to warm Death Valley for some sun to finish out the trip.

This was so documentary and proof that plein air painting is for real men (or women) only. It was a pleasure not to have the pitfalls glossed over, although the hail seemed totally over the edge! It takes courage to pick up your paints and head out the door.

I have seen quite a few plein air painting demo videos.  This is far and away the best ever!

I would have charged extra for the paintings since you had to give up so much DNA to the mosquitos.
