This is another farther version of the dame thing i have been working on if you have seen the others. I put in some purple in the skin tones which darkened them quite a bit. I put in high lights in the eyes and hair. The nose and mouth are re-worked some, as well as the shadows in the face. The most obvious change will be the bamboo I put in for contrast. Tell me what you think of it. This is my first attempt to draw bamboo and I wonder if the color of it should be a little darker or something, or maybe you think it is too distracting?

I think your changes are wonderful - I like the changes to the hands and the bamboo is very eye catching, causing my eye to go to it but then because it gets greener at the top, my eye then travels to the face.  Very, very nice work!

Great revision, the head no longer floats,  Very nice painting. The color of the bamboo is not distracting, but should be repeated somewhere else in the painting, if only a small spot.

perhaps on the left side of the painting somewhere.

This is very nice.  I am interested in the technique you use (i.e. do you first do watercolor & ink and then finish it off using the computer).  I have  done some stuff in photoshop but have never combined it with any of my paintings.

By emphasising her facial features that distinctly identify her as Ruby, you have put the focus back on the face. Quite different from the original photo-for the better.

Thank you everyone for the comments. I need to get to work on some new projects before my vacation runs out, and try and improve and re-do some old projects that i did, But I would like to post one more to incorporate the suggestion that Jan Schafir made.
