Stan Miller workshop a few years ago

I have been rummaging through some of my older artwork and thought I might post some of it. This is from a workshop that Stan Miller gave. He provided us with the photo and gave us the opportunity to draw freehand or trace the outline. Being rather new to the whole thing I chose to trace the outline and work from there.

Thank you, Bruce. Part of what we were working on here was the effect that color has on bringing things forward and pushing them back in a painting. So obviously the colors are somewhat exaggerated. I was probably the slowest person in the class, but I had a blast.

This piece is quite remarkable for a watercolour work. Very successful way of layering of washers, a process which I am too timid to attempt. The slight hint of warmth in trategic places holds things together. Bravo, Margo.
