January 2013 Media Challenge painting. I drew the shapes of the chicks using a brush with a light wash and then added the layers of shades. Watercolor only on 140lb. cold press watercolor paper 9x12.
Very cute. I like this.
Thank you Charlie. It was fun although I'm looking at it and see I should have added more leg in the second one from the left. I can do that tonight though. I learned a lot about shading with this.
Actually I notice a couple of other things that need corrected. It's funny what you don't see when you're looking right at something.
Hi Catherine, SO glad you posted this! One if my all-time favorites of yours. Isn't it funny how we can see things in our work after we scan or photograph or upload it that we couldn't see with the naked eye?
Catherine, this is so cute. You did a good job with it. Please post it again after you make changes.
Thank you Alex and Sam! They remind me of the different kinds of people waiting for the bus. Some are talking, some are looking at things across the street, and some are just wishing the bus would come already. One day C. Brown is going to post a watercolor of real people standing at the bus stop. I'll get there
I really enjoy the light-hearted nature of this charming watercolor.
Thank you Mark!
nice work!
adorable!
Thank you curtis and lynn!
One would stop eating eggs, looking at this adorable painting!
lol. you're right elisabeth! I may have a moment the next time I look at a half dozen eggs.
Sweet. Great job
Thank you Laura!
Oh my this is beautiful!
Thank you RAUL!
My favorite too! I agree that before we scan and upload we sometimes unwittingly rely on the "picture in our head", then are forced to see more obectively after the upload process. Great job, Catherine. Love this!
