Mary Paul's Side Buffet by Sharon Repple  acrylic 24" x 24"

My mother-in-law would cover her antique side buffet with incredible homemade desserts at Christmas and Easter.  This painting is in memory of her and was commissioned by her daughter.   You can see Mom reflected in the mirror

Love this!   The subject is so symbolic and I love the execution and the reflection of the mother.  A wonderful idea!!!  Would suit my Grandmother so well too.

Thank you so much Kitty and Charlie.  This painting brought back so many wonderful memories and was a joy to paint.

Sharon, a beautiful way to remember your mother-in-law. Not so much by a portrait of her but by her loving actions:she showed her love for her family by baking all these delicious looking desserts!

Thank you Celia, Garcia and Cholzschuh, I always look forward to your comments.  The perspective was a challenge because I wanted it to appear that you were looking down and selecting which dessert you wanted: strawberry pie, carrot cake,  chocolate 16 layer cake, Mountain Mama (pudding dish), coconut cake with green and red layers, strawberry cake and pound cake.  Then I placed the desserts surrounded by her beautiful antiques because she was an antique dealer.
