This is a painting that I did in the Cindy Barron workshop that I took a few years ago. I have enjoyed every workshop that I have taken and have learned so much in all of them. This painting would need to be cropped in order to correct problems with composition (my fault not Cindy's). You often think that you are getting asymmetrical balance and then find that you have put something like the valley smack dab in the center of the paper.

Yes,  I love the atmospheric quality to the painting as well.  It may be the cropping, but the left hand side including the mountain appears, at least on the screen to be sloping a little toward the center, but all in all it is very painterly.

Jan, Alexandra, Kostadin, Raul, and Harry, I thank each of you so much for your comments. Jan, I think you are right. I think that was an area I had to try to salvage, but overall, I liked the atmospheric effect.

Nice colors and it may sound odd, but to me it has movement.

Thank you, Bo. I did like the movement and atmosphere that I captured in spite of the fact that I had put almost a v-like composition smack dab in the middle of the painting. I was also fascinated with the beautiful colors that you can capture with some of the particular paints that I used in this piece.
