Except in small amounts I really don't like the color red. I painted this red bird because it was so red and I need to see if I have a mental hang up about the color red or I just don't like it. I think being raised a Catholic has caused me trauma about the color red. Hell, Bishops sending you to hell, Saten is red, hell is on fire and fire is red etc., etc. I think I need a Catholic support group ;)

 Watercolor only on 140 lb. cold press 9x12 in.

Ths is VERY nice.  Red is aslo the color of the Holy Spirit, so think of that when you use red.

You put a smile on my face about being raised a Catholic and the red color. I was also raised a Catholic and have never related red with hell. In my case I´m a bit caution with red because it draws too much attention! and also is the color for passion :)

Anyway! your red bird is excellent!
