Made a slight revision as the woman next to the two right figures looked out of proportion. I think it works better now.

What -- perfect isn't good enough? It does look better though. Nice job, makes me long for summer!

It does work better Brian - although not something that was noticable in the first one.  BEAUTIFUL!!!

Brian,

I can only say that it is real good.  It should adorn somebodies wall.  You capture the gestures of the people very well and the wetness of the sand.  And I love the composition.  The figures lead the eye up into the painting so beautifully.  Keep painting!

Lovely painting.  I compared the first and the revised, and the first does allow one's eyes to wonder off of the page at the upper left, although the atmospheric effect is nice.  Good revision!

Great treatment of water, figures and rockscape!  I'm having trouble doing one person on a 36x36 canvas with a beachy/rocky setting!

Bpier, lovely painting. I love the way you caught the reflections in the damp sand in the mid-section of this painting. Your people look great -- so natural.

You were correct to make this adjustment with the figures. They became a stop-sign in the other work and now here I want to continue into the distance. The aerial perspective is done well on this one bringing just the right amount of moisture into the air and the quiet distortion of the colors and values in the back but not as strongly which again alows us (the viewer) to dift into your sea/landscape. Your red figure on the right is just strong enough but not overpowering (as in the first one) that it keeps us from drifting to far off to the deep left. Paint on and enjoy.
