Pencil and charcoal practice.

12x18 on Strathmore sketch paper. My first attempt at cross hatching and charcoal. I'm learning about the tools and the technique and am finding that cross hatching and charcoal work is as unforgiving as watercolor work. All it takes is one little slip of the hand when you're shading and you're left with a repair area. I've never really used charcoal before and I'm still learning about how to apply it and the whole "now what" stiutation.

Thank you Charlie. This may sound silly but I like hearing the soft little sounds the pencil makes when I stroke the paper with it.

Me encanta, especialmente el ángel de la izquierda y creo que voy a tratar de escuchar al papel más seguido
