Ice Storm 2009

Pastel and charcoal on earth-tone paper.  This is my attempt to portray a chunk of ice.  In our area in 2009 we had a severe ice-storm.  Our power was out for 17 days.  This chunk of ice shows the thickness that was on our power lines which took down many lines and poles and changed our landscape with broken trees.  We survived but hope it never happens again.

Thank you, Mr Garcia.  There is a saying here in SE Missouri. "If you don't like the weather today, stick around because it will change tomorrow".  I can't imagine weather that is hot and humid all the time.....I'd have to move. :)

That's a lot of ice on a power line! I like how you can see a hint of the line through the ice chunk.
