Very nice - love the color!!  Poppies are one of my favorite flowers - we have lots of them in our garden.

Nice painting. I like the subtle shifts of color in the flower.

Laura - there is an artist in the Old Quebec city region of Canada who paints nothing by Poppies.  Some of her paintings are very large canvases,  I would guess to be 48 x 60 if not larger.  I can't remember her name, but I have some info someplace as we have been to her studio many times.

Something to think about for future paintings of poppies.

Thanks so much Paulk & Richard :)

Richard, I haven't worked on a very large canvas yet, and this was actually the first poppy I've ever painted!  ;-)  Sort of a practice run... I'm planning on doing a series of smaller poppy paintings on 6 x 6" canvases to put around this one.  Once I feel more confident with poppies I will try the larger canvases.  Thanks for your suggestion.  :)

This seems to be a big step up to me. I think you made a break through.
