Beautiful.  You really get a sense of that diaphanous light coming through the petals, and there's a great sense of movement toward throughout.  And it's just beautiful too!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. My main focus was to capture the dramatic lighting on this blossom that caught my attention while wandering through the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.  It was a beautiful,clear day in spring which I will always remember. Afterwards, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan. The painting is 70x110cm (27.5 x 43.3ins) on stretched Belgian linen. Thanks again, I appreciate your comments.

I like the contrast between the sharp and soft focus of the flower and the background.
