It was a thrill to paint this unique Australian native wildflower with it's flame like petals and glossy blue-black centre.  It felt very different painting this one compared with my usual "exotic blooms".  Would love to know how you feel about this one!

Michelle, this is a beautiful painting, I'm not familiar with this flower but I love the repetition of the blooms and the bright red color is very striking against the black center.

Michelle,  there is clearly depth here and it has been created very stylistically.  This is like an abstract in many ways with a strong composition.

Thanks so much for your comments.  I wish you could all see this plant growing in the wild, it gets my heart racing every time!

Wow, this really grabbed my eye.  You did a great job, it's got so much wonderful rich color.
