Flutist, Battery Park

In Battery Park in NYC I take my lunch breaks from work and go out to sketch. I saw this man playing his flute and snapped a few photos. Back home I painted this watercolor on arches 300 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper.

Beautiful work on the various textures,rich colors. The contrast of this rough character playing the delicate flute makes an interesting subject.
