My first (and last) attempt at a pastel drawing. How hard are they to use!!!!

I think your "first attempt" is pretty good. I threw my first attempt in the trash and am not sure I'll return. I agree that pastels are not easy. I hope this is not your last because it looks like you may have a feel for the pastels.

Er... thanks. I think it is pretty ropey but I suppose I can have a few more cracks at it ( parden the pun) before i swat the pastels in the bin.
My practice with pastels was way worse than this, although I have put them in storage for when I fell brave enough to try again! This is a wonderful sketch!
