I am increasingly drawn to farming scenes these days. I think maybe because it is one of the last ties society has to a simpler way of life and one that is sadly, quickly disappearing. The other day I passed the place where an old barn stood, and sure enough, it's no longer there. In this painting, I wanted to convey the stillness of early morning, right before the "chores" start. I painted it almost alla prima, I had the image in my mind and let the painting tell me what to do. C + C are always welcomed. It is an 18 X 24 acrylic on canvas.
