This is the first painting for the Christian charity, Christ's Kitchen, October fund raising luncheon.  The theme "Living Water".  I had done a painting called Living Water but no longer owned it.  So I decided to revisit it and several other's besides.  The painting Living Water is about the rock that Moses struck in the wilderness that poured forth "living water".  The rock being a metaphor for Jesus who is my Rock and was struck in the wilderness for the salvation of all mankind's souls.  The sprout beneath the hands being watered by the flow from the broken heart of the rock represents myself.

Me gusta la idea de ser el mismo cuadro pero sin serlo y el detalle del cuadro del perro (del otro cuadro que puso) como parte del fondo

Yes, it is busy. These are all on my studio wall. It was something I wanted to try since I have always said, "Even an artist can't copy his/her own work exactly."  I found as I repainted 3 paintings that it was true.  When I tried for exact I felt stiff and mechanical.  When I just painted for likeness it was as though I was painting them again for the first time and was relaxed, just responding to what was in front of me.  Are they the same as the originals? No, there are significant differences that would be noticeable if compared side by side.

Strong, symbolic painting.

Painting has Biblical meaning,

Meaning of Rock,  Water, Meaning of Life,

Jesus is the Rock, Living Water is Life.

Broken Rock, Broken Heart,

Has someone mended that part?
