The forgiven thief ,or as history calls him,the GOOD Thief. He asked Jesus to remember him when he comes into His kingdom. Jesus said,"This day you shall be with me in Paradise". I imagine when the soldiers broke his legs ,even then he died with a smile on his face.

The tension between the smile on the thief's face and the cruelty of the event puts my emotions in somewhat of a bi-polar state.  Powerful.  The truth of your words make the scene miraculous.  And maybe that is the evidence of miracles.  Not that things change or pains are relieved, but that believing Jesus' words and works carry us on through the door to Paradise.  Thank you for this meditation.
