TER - I was looking for something quick to paint & cut the photograph of the flower from the International Artist magazine - I did not use your painting as a reference.....

I apologize for painting the photgraph, but I did not see a name under the photo so I thought it ws ok to use.....

I have removed my version of the photgraph from the gallery & apologize once again.....

TER - first I looked at JATravis's rose and found it to be quite different than yours.   I find both to be very beautiful!

I'm also a new artist and was going to do the demonstration of your rose in IA Magazine.  If I do the rose am I not allowed to post my results?  Or how can I appropriately post my results?  Are there rules governing the use of source materials?

Thank you - Roxy

RoxyStargazer First thanks for your comment but I am completly disagree with you in JA Travis Rose.

The materials that you find in magazines, internet, books, etc are as a reference but never to make a exact copy of it because you can be in a lot of trouble an infringe or violated law or rights of another.

In the Articule PAINTING LARGER THAN LIFE that International Artist Magazine published last year, I demonstrated step by step the process of my work. You are welcome to use it as a study with your own photo or another rose, but, as an advice you should NEVER make a copy of another artist work without his/her permission or make sure to give the artist credit.

If you want to use another art work as a study and post the results you may write after..."person/source Name".

I hope the information was useful.

TER - thank you so much.  the infringment gets so confusing! With the videos and such out there I have done I wasn't sure if I could post those and if so how to do it appropriately.  I don't want to disrespect anyone...if anything I am reproducing because I admire and am trying your technique and others like you because I hope to achieve the quality and beauty you do.

Roxy..I understand perfectly what you say and is so dificult because is so much out there that you don't know what to do but I think that if you give credits to the artist you won't have any problems, I am not so sure because I use my own photos and make my own compositions and designs, but before you use someone else work is better you ask, you don't  lose anything and can save you a lot of trouble.

Roxy. I am very please you admire my work and the article in the IA magazine was for that porpose to show the process of my work and if I can help someone I will be thankful and open to do it, but I had so much trouble lately with people trying to take advantage of my work that probably I jump so fast but I was very upset...anyway I hope you take a little of my advice for what is work it.

Take care and thanks again.
