Sharpie permanent marker on 10" x 10" canvas.

I just completed this piece for the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum's  Fourth Annual 10 x 10 Benefit Show. All proceeds will benefit the MCA Museum exhibition and educational programs.

Stippling is great fun ... hee hee, keeps you honest and works your discipline ... a false move and the piece is kind of shot ... there are a few spots that are a bit cloggy on this piece but what was it da Vinci said " Art is never finished, only abandoned" ; ))) Blessing and good thoughts toward a wonderful outcome.

I normally see sunflowers drawn or painted in full bloom.
Your take on it is so refreshing. The medium also gives it texture and great tonal values.

Wow! Thanks for all the wonderful input!! I do so appreciate it. I do believe I will be exploring this vein of thing a bit more here ... thinking perhaps a bit of wash might be nice to try in future pieces
