Rain - Payneham Road

50x50cm acrylic on textured board

Payneham Road is one of the main roads out of the city of Adelaide toward the eastern suburbs. There are some great old gum trees along the road that give it lots of character - especially in the wet!

A very fine piece of work, Mike. Great darks, great ambiguous edges in the distance and soft greys. Nice touch of the complementary reds.

I can smell and feel the damp and hear the tires against the wet street.  Wonderful painting.
