Catching the Breeze

The companion piece to Ocean Breeze, Catching the Breeze (30 x 36 original oil on canvas) follows the young woman on her journey down the beach and through life itself. Again, the irony of the figure -- at the beginning of her life and still formulating the dreams that will take her into adulthood -- walks toward the setting sun.

Such is life, with its ironies, its mysteries, its puzzlement, its joy and its sorrow intertwined. There is a peace, joy, and innocence in this piece that captures life's sweetness and poignancy.

I am always delighted to chat with artists and collectors, and invite you to contact me through my website at Steve Henderson Fine Art.

Powerful compositon yet the calm of the setting sun is at peace with the day.  The water reflecting the cape is well done and keeps that corner alive and different than the other three.  The highlight of her hair creates a well placed halo effect on her.

Love the way that this seems to glow.

Absolutely gorgeous. Strong, beautiful focal point.  I love the play between the hot and cool colors.  This accompanied by it's companion piece will be dynamite.

A beautiful composition! Apart from the girl's skin and her white dress, no local colours are to be found elsewhere and yet the tapestry of colours creates a new dimension of reality. Excellent!
