Judge's Comments: Strong composition with simple shapes giving a sense of solidity and calm. Paint application, values and hues work very well together. The interest provided in the varying depth of snow from sunlight to shadow, as well as the value changes from different planes, gives this piece enough “really good stuff” to keep it from being stark. - Kathryn Stat
