Found Footage of Monet Painting Water Lilies. Enjoy fellow artists.
That was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you
Excellent!!!
Love the butt hanging out of his mouth....
There are a lot of videos on youtube showing films of Renoir, Monet, etc. by AD films.
What a treasure! I do watch closely how an artist holds their brush, how often they clean their brush, etc. There is much we can learn from the masters.
Nice feeling to that film. What was the music?
Most artist dont realize is just because you put yellow next to red you dont always get orange you can get some nuance of orange but what it comes down to basically is we all see a different color spectrum and we all have different personalities , so in reality a picture is developed by ones personality. Each artist paints their own personality , with much preparation comes success and with much practice comes success. Monet painted his personality, and I imagine he learned what not to do and what works as far as applying paint to a canvus withmuch practice..We never saw the ones he destroyed because he didnt want his viewers to see .
Did not realize there was a way to film this in 1899. Thank you for making this possible to watch.
Wow.. just amazing footage... a step into the past.. yet so alive.. like his paintings. Thanks for sharing this amazing film with us.
That was nice. Dabs and dashes in the right place with the right color, that is what he was all about. He knew exactly where to place them. I loved the little terrier dog following him!
dab dab look, dab dab look. A lesson for us all. Thank you.
That was sooooooooo special, I had the pleasure to visit his house some years back, to walk in his garden and over that bridge, magic

Absolutely fantastic! Makes one feel that you are being a part of history in the making! Loved it!
Love it! It's hard to see his face under the hat shadow but that is his nose. do you know when the film was taken? He walks briskly so it was before eye problems. I think he started the water lily paintings late 1890's and first exhibited them 1909. Maybe this was towards the beginning as he was pretty famous by then...I am the author of Claude & Camille: A novel of Monet (Crown/Random House) which is actually sold in the Giverny gift shop! Amazing to me!
Look at him paint and in a white suit. How wonderful
That was really neat! Thanks.
WOW!! amazing footage...thank you for sharing
