This is a charcoal study for a painting I'm about to begin. The model
is a co-worker of mine. One day he was looking at one of my paintings
and joked about how he wanted a painting of himself with a
"napoleon"-style hat. I thought that wasn't a half-bad idea, so I
started doing some research and opted for a late 17th century British
naval theme instead (I'm reading Mutiny on the Bounty, so it's fresh in my mind). The drawing is 12" x 12" and the painting will be 24" x 24".
