Very-very nice.  Reminds me of some of my buddy Tony Van Hasselts works.

Thank you all.  It is a small sketch, 6x10, and I can never decide whether to make a large painting of these or just keep the immediacy of the moment. Has any one ever had any luck doing this?

Jan - I think you can certainly do a larger version - to me at the risk of missing some of the "spur of the moment" decisions made while plein air, you need to NOT over think it while bringing it to a larger size.  May I suggest you take the small version out doors and paint the larger version while outside - this can I find bring some of the original spark back.

You knocked this one out of the park! Beautiful composition and great colors all brought together by your signature "fresh" artistic hand. Nice work!

Thanks everyone,  Richard,  I will try your suggestion, don't know whether I can capture Italy in my back yard, but will give it a try.

Oh I'm sure you can't capture tha alure of italy in your CA back yard, but the smell of the fresh air and just being outside may bring back the freedom of strokes you had when doing the painting plein air.  My other suggestion would be to put a pot of home made past sauce on the stove - leave the window open and sniff and paint away!!!

Create the mood!

Richard, such poetry is wonderful.  I will give it a try.  I could also put on my cd with Italian music.
