A class project that I found very enjoyable! I placed strips of torn tape where the trunks are, and painted them last. I really liked the effect, and will try this again.

Thanks so much. Yep, I'm an obvious "newby" here; I've been painting a little less than a year. And although my work doesn't compare with the rest that's posted here (but with time and God's Grace, it might someday), I really find the comments so incredibly helpful, and everyone's paintings are absolutely inspirational.
