Either place is good for me.  Do you have a preference?

If we have a small size group, say 10 or under, Cafe' 36 would be most convenient.  Anything larger we would probably be better off at Phantom Canyon.

Just wanted to chime in here on behalf of Nancy Yu--she's having some technical difficulties at the moment with her log in, but she wants everyone to know that she would like to meet for dinner, so please count her in.

OK. Since the movie has been pushed back to 8:00pm, how 'bout meeting at 5:30pm @ Cafe 36. It's in the Art Center so its a good location to meet. We can always go somewhere else close by depending on input. Someone mentioned the word "pricey".

Allison, Pete, Phillip, Nancy-

Jacq Baldini contacted me directly via e-mail re meeting before the film.  She has too been locked out of the forum??  FYI - No postings have been forwarded to my e-mail address for a while either.  I just happened to check the forum and found the latest from Nancy.  Hope this problem is only temporary.

Anyway,  Cafe 36 appears to be the least complicated solution.  How does 5:30 work for everyone?

There's supposed to be a shuttle, depending where you stay, but I don't know if it will begin that night or the next morning.  Anybody know?

There will be a complimentary shuttle from the Marriott to the Arts Center, but not sure when it starts.

I will be staying at the Marriot and driving a seven passenger car. Anybody wanting a ride to dinner- call me on my cell: 3216045894.

Hi Cynthia

I seem to be back in now...

Thanks again for your help.

Anyone else flying into Colorado Springs airport ?

Arriving around noon on the 9th.

Maybe we can share a cab to the Marriott.

Would be great to get out to paint before the conference, too !

Jacq

Hi Peter

I found this info in a review at Trip Advisor

As other reviewers have noted, the restaurant is good, but pricey, and the internet is not free in the rooms (typical Marriott).

However, there are a number of nice restaurants within a mile or two, and a free hotel shuttle to take you to them.

Sounds like the shuttle is available to get to the restaurant.

Thanks JR-

I'm flying in & out of Denver so that I can see my Dad on this trip. Will be borrowing his car to drive to the Springs. Just thought that since I had a car with me that I would offer transport to and from dinner & the movie.

Hi, Jacq and everybody.   How many people are staying at the Mariott?  Could be great for cafe discussions.  I've always wanted to be part of artists discussing art in a cafe.  Like the impressionists.  What fun.   I'm flying in a day before to adjust to the altitude.  I hope it won't be a problem, but you never know.  --Nancy

I drive a Chrysler mini van, which will accomodate 7 people (including driver). Though 3 of the occupants have to be on the small side as the back bench seat is not large.  I will be delighted to come pick up anyone who needs a ride to the Arts Center for the 'Meet and Greet' and film and return you to the Marriott.

Brenda and I will be glad to take you up on your kind offer if there's no "mass" transportation available.  I'll have Brenda give you a call.  She's my social chairwoman.  We're staying at the Marriott.  Probably won't get into painting that afternoon.  Might take a nap-unwinding from work-etc.  We're coming from eastern time zone-don't want to go to sleep during the movie!
